What an epic place. We were so blessed to see the many things we saw and experience the images like the northern lights, the windswept peaks, and just the general power of nature and great people.
Be Present: Our Guide did a great job of stopping us several times mid-hike and said, “LOOK! Enjoy this here and now, isn’t it amazing. Be present; you are on vacation!” It is incredible how often we trudge through life trying to get to the top of the mountain and forget to stop and enjoy the view along the way. Live is a gift, a vacation. Intentionally enjoy every step of it.
Surround yourself with Great people: It is said that you are the average of the five people you associate with most, so raise the standards. If this is true, I have set for myself a significant challenge in making it to the middle of the pack of the great people I have around me. More importantly, great people push you positively and call you out when you are not on the right path. This ability to be genuine and authentic is so important in our lives.
Allow yourself to be in awe: There is no more humbling feeling than realizing the immensity of time and power it took to create what nature puts on display every day. So often in our daily lives, we try to be in control or the one in the know. Allowing ourselves to feel that power and grace and be ok with it can be a powerful gift to carry with us every day.
A final lesson I learned that was more just reinforced was I love my life and being able to live the purpose I do. Taking time away reminded me of all my blessings.
Make it a GREAT week,
Brad
